I got my PINK phone!!

Haven been updating for some time cos i was just plain lazy .. Haha .. Well, I've got the photos for the Penang trip already but i'll update on tt later.

First things first, jus got back from shopping cum catching up cum driving ard central n western part of S'pore with Fiona. I bought my W580i in Metro Pink .. Yippee .. I'm a happy gal ... I've been trying to find it for th past wk .. So glad tt i chanced upon it at Carrefore today .. Even the white or gray ones are out of stock at the Singtel shops.. Btw .. the pink one can only be found at SE shops ..

Enough bout the phone .. Think we've explored the whole of western S'pore tonight. Yeah .. When we meet up we usually end up eating n then finding somewhere else to drink or east some more. Not a very good itinery so today we did something diff .. We drove ard instead .. We drove to South Buona Vista Rd with the aim of finding the "99 Turns" a rd with lots of bends near NUS n Science Park 1 or is it Science Park 2??

We used to go past tt rd when we had to go down to Rhodia to do our FYP when we were in Poly. Benny used to drive us ard that area n i still rmb the yummy duck rice tt we bought some where near tt area. Anyway, we found the road and ended up at Kent Ridge Park where more memories came back to me. The view from Kent Ridge was wondeful but the industrial areas sort of took away some of the beauty .. i still prefer the view from Mt Faber.

Had a long chat with FIona today and i think she still understands me the most .. Something she said jus now started me thinking tt maybe i shld give him a chance and also myself a chance .. Who noes .. It may work out after all or it may not .. After all i am responsible for my actions and decisions and i dun have to bother about the opinions of others.. Cos its true .. I may like something but someone else may not like it .. Hmm .. I may not be making much sense here but some ppl may noe wat i mean .. Okie .. Its time for bed .. This post is 4 days late but i'm still going to blog bout it. We sent off Wendy to Sydney on Sunday night. Lucky her got to take the A380 flight and its all paid for by her company. She's on a 2 yrs contract but think she'll be back in Feb for CNY. My granny would be one person who will be counting down to the day she comes back.

I'll be going Penang on the 14th of Dec with Su, Cindy and her bf. Su will be bringing us ard for the 5 days we'll be there and noeing her, we'll be having at least 5 meals a day. I go holiday my diet have to go on holiday with me too. Haha. Anyway, I'll be taking leave until the 19th. Still considering whether to take leave on the 21st and the 24th. Then i don have to come back to work until after xmas ...

After 3 Months ..

I totally forgot that bout my blog until my younger cuz asked me last sun y i haven been updating it. *guilty look* Well, time sure flies very fast. I'm already 4 mnths into my job and so far i've been doing lots of paperwork due to the roadmapping exercise. Its been preparing proposals and reports for the various projects and not forgetting decorating my cubicle with kuromi peripherals .. Haha .. Su has been complaining bout my collection haha .. Had loads of fun last night. Went KTV with Huiling, Wendy n i dragged Mei along too :p I've forgotten how much fun we used to have when we used to go out together when we were younger. We used to go to the play ground near my grandparents place after sch n play, stay back together after sch for library duties, walk over to one anothers place to do our projects or jus to hang out. We were all so carefree last time. How time past. Its already been 17 years since.

We were laughing over the craziest things last night. The best was when i was going to sing a song by Ah Qin n i said tt he's my bf n wendy suddenly asked very seriously "He's dead already??" Tt started Ling n me on a laughing fit. Both of us were laughing until we were tearing n our stomachs were cramping. Crazy lah. And when we were havin supper at Tong Shui, I was trying to cut the toast with the knife and the 3 of them were armed with a fork each and the were all waiting for me to cut the toast n none of them helped me to hold the bread steady .. Really got nothing to say bout their action .. But it was really so much fun reminiscing about the past. There's so much tt i wanna blog out but i'm really lazy now n i still got some work to do .. Zouk was fun yest. Didn't drink much cos i was driving. Guess its a blessing in disguise ba cos Francis opened a bottle of Hennesy and everyone was made to drink. And for some funny reason i cant slp when i drink. So yeah .. I guess it was a blessing. They were playing mambo songs throughout but just as we were beginning to really enjoy ourselves, it was 10.30 and they had to open to the public n they started playing house music which i dun really fancy. Headed down to Coffee Club Express at Clark Quay after tt to chill cos TCC was packed. I spent the whole day sleeping today .. Its such a luxury to be able to slp in .. Its the weekend again!!

Finally. The weekends are here again!! Yippee!! This wk flew past quite fast. Its been quite a busy week and i've been falling aslp as soon as my head touches the pillow. Busy is good. It makes my time past faster n when i'm busy i've got no time to think.

Had a wonderful dinner at Kushinbo at Suntec with my cuz. Ate until or stomach were bloated. But i really enjoyed myself. She bought me a graduation bear. Although its not the one wearing the gown but this is cuter (and cheaper). Heard from MH tt the one tt they are selling at the graduation ceremony cost $60!!! So ex lah!! Anyway "CLASS OF 2007" is written on the mortar board so its a good souvenir. Cute rite??

Received some good news from Joyce jus now. Gal i really hope that u have found someone that can take care of u and who is really worthy of u. I guess any one would be better than tt jerk rite?? Haha.. U noe who i'm toking about yah??

Well tmr's gonna be another packed day. Going to take the family portrait on National Day so gonna have to go recke the place with Wendy tmr after tuition then its down to Zouk in the evening for the Alumni Gathering. Gonna go catch some slp now. Nitez ..

Had a wonderful time tonight

Met up with the 3Mers for dinner just now before Nicole goes to China n to celebrate Lawrence's bday which happens to fall on the 1st of August which is TODAY.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAWRENCE!!!

Had dinner at Ichiban Boshi at Suntec. The food's quite value for money and i love their roasted green tea. Something different from the usual green tea. Think i had too much refill. Dun feel slpy at all although its way past my bedtime. I read somewhere that drinking hot green tea is very effective in keeping u awake when u r feeling slpy. Maybe tt's y i'm wide awake now. We were yakking away for close to 2 hrs before moving over to TCC to surprise Lawrence with his bday present n cake. The look on his face when we sang the bday song was priceless. Think he was damn embarrassed :P. Its really fun going out with these guys. Hopefully the mj session next sat would be successful. Looking forward to it. I'll better try to get some rest if not i'll be making alot of mistakes at work tmr. Will upload photos as soon as i receive them.

I've been wanting to blog about this for the past wk but i've been busy with work n stuffs. Do u noe that the Mei in my name is actually Magnesium in chinese?? Y the sudden interest in my name u ask? Its because i'm currently involved in a project and Magnesium is one of the materials used. Here's the story behind why its written as 鎂. It was originally 美倩 but my parents got a master to calculate my 'eight characters' and found out tt i lack the metal element in the 5 elements, 金, 木, 水, 火, 土 (Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth). So they decided to add the 金 into the 美 to become 鎂 which is magnesium. I got this defination of magnesium from dictionary.com.

I still rmb when i was being interviewed for my present job, one of the interviewers commented the chinese character of my name was very special n i related this story to them. At the end of the story they asked me "Is tt y u applied for this position?" My reply was "I've nv tot about it in this way. Hmm .. Maybe tt's y i'm a materials graduate and y i chose microforming as my FYP and decided to join the metal forming technology group." Maybe it was my name tt made them decide to hire me??

Boring Sat

I cant believe that i spent my precious sat slping at home and going for tuition. Sianz. Wanted to go n watch Harry Potter but Clarice's still working on her project at work. Guess tmr's another stay at home sun. I've been eating mangosteens and durian for lunch n dinner. Dad brought them back from M'sia when he went in with his fren on thurs. He also brought back some very yummy kaya. Think i'm going to finish the very big bag of mangosteens soon. I'm the only one at home who loves to eat it. Haha. Feel so happy when i get to eat my favourite foods. I'm an easily satisfied gal. Haha.

Mum was bugging me the whole of last wk to go Sentosa with them for her company's family day. Saying stuffs like its been yrs since her company's organised a family day, Dun go then next time dun ask her for anything .. Blah blah blah .. The last time i went was when i was in primary sch lah. Go there also nothing to do. C all the uncles n aunties. Have to entertain them. I'ld rather stay at home and catch up on my slp. Luckily i nv go. It was raining the whole day and there was lightning n thunder. Jus the perfect type of weather to slp in. Its been so long since i've last been to Sentosa. The last time was in Dec when we planned the Amazing Race. Clem's been saying tt they are planning another activity but up till now still no news from them. Think the main plan is to get Alex drunk. TGIF!!

The title says it all. Whew!! Its finally fri. And i cant believe tt i got no plans tonight and for the wkend too .. Sad!! I was just telling someone last fri tt the wkend doesn't mean much to me cos everyday's like wkend to me. And now here i am looking forward to the wkend. I'm beginning to appreciate the importance of the wkend again. Haha. I've survived the first wk of work. Act i look forward to working cos there's really so much for me to learn there. But i just cant get over the having to wake up at 6.15am part. That's the worst part man. Once i bath and get dressed and head down to the carpark i feel better but the waking up n getting ready part is a killer. I hate waking up so early. And Lawrence keeps reminding me tt he only have to wake up at 7.30 to go to work .. IDIOT!! -_-

First wk of work n assignments are slowly coming in. I'm involved in a few projects but first i gotta read up n prepare the final report for an ongoing project before we can start on another project. There's also a team meeting on mon morn and Dr Wong .. I mean Chow Cher (Have been calling him Dr Wong for the past yr n now he says everyones on a first name basis so cannot call him Dr Wong. Have to get used to it.) wants me to write the minutes. I just hope tt i dun doze of during the meeting. Hmm.. I dunno if i'll be able to understand wats being discussed moreover have to write minutes somemore .. But i'll try my best. Anyway he'll be going thru it first b4 sending it out to the team. Its a good training. I guess.

Walked over to Hall 3 for lunch today n met Danno san (my mentor) there. He was lunching alone so we joined his table. At first we were afraid tt it would be very awkward but i ended up enjoying my lunch and chatting with him bout Japan, food, and work. And also learnt some jap words. He's really a very helpful n knowledgeable old man. U shld c the engineering drawings he draw damn pro. I used to enjoy drawing engineering drawings but i'm very rusty now due to lack of practice. Dr Danno says tt he'll let me try to draw some soon. I'm looking forward to it. Cant wait. I'm so lucky to have him as my mentor. He was also Chow Cher's mentor so does tt mean tt we are of the same level?? :P .. Haha .. Cannot let CC see this if not i die. Haha.

I'm loving my fringe .. When i tie up my hair,which i have to do when i'm in the lab, my face doesn't look so round .. Yay!! *APPLAUSE*

Almost got into an accident

I was almost involved in a head-on collision this aftn .. My dad was on leave so i drove to work and me n Cindy went out for lunch this aftn .. When we came back, there was no parking lots outside SIMTech so i had to drive further in, there was some changes to the road due to the new MAE building and the road tt used to be 2 way was changed to 1 way instead. As i was turning out, this car suddenly came out of nowhere and it was going at quite a fast speed in the carpark. It was going against traffic lah. Luckily i managed to break in time. The driver was a female and she was going quite fast. I was so mad lah. U going against traffic somemore go so fast. Although inside carpark not tt many cars also must keep a look out mah. Irritating. Dunno how she got her license lah. I noe tt i'm also a female driver and i'm not a very safe driver too but at least i not so reckless lor. Fed up ..

Have already applied for 1/2 day leave. My original plan was to apply for 1 day leave but we are act not supposed to apply for leave cos we jus started work .. Anywayz at least they allowed us to take 1/2 day leave so i'll still have to work until 12 noon .. Better than nothing ..

Gonna take loads of photos tt day .. Wearing the '四方冒' is a once in a lifetime opportunity somemore i've slogged for 3 yrs to get the chance to wear it and its not everyday that a gal gets to wear it .. Haha .. Okie .. I noe wearing tt is not the main pt .. Getting a good job is the impt thing ..

Last wk when i went back to sch to collect my certs, transcripts n gown, it happens to be the convocation of the NIE students .. There were booths set up outside the Nanyang Audi and there was one selling these very cute bears wearing the mortar .. I want one on my graduation day .. Someone buy one for me pls .. pretty pretty pls .. I'll be a very happy gal tt day .. Even better if i get flowers :P ..

2nd Day of Work!!

2nd day of work n i'm really damn tired .. Not because i have loads of work but because i have nothing to do. Its really worse than being bz .. Some ppl will say tt i'm crazy .. Got nothing to do better than very bz mah .. But I'm really not used to sitting ard n staring into space .. Time passes so slowly when i'm idling .. Its really torturous .. N my com is not set up yet .. So cant surf the net .. I got a feeling tt we cant use MSN there .. Damn .. Anywayz .. Will be meeting my boss tmr morn .. Hopefully he's free n dun postpone again .. I cant stand idling another day .. Gonna slp now .. If not i'll be dead on my feet tmr .. Nitez ..

First Day of Work!!

Today was my first day of work and i was already asked to sit in at a meeting .. Didn't understand much of wat they were discussing but at least i got the gist of the meeting .. I really got alot of stuffs to learn .. Feel so blur n lost .. My assigned mentor is someone very clever n experienced .. I'm hoping to learn alot of things from him .. The only problem is tt he's a japanese and his accent is quite hard to understand .. Well .. Guess i'll be an expert at communicating with him after 2 mnths .. Haha .. Anyway .. I exhausted nw .. gonna slp early tonight .. Still not used to waking up early .. My body clock is still tuned to slping at 4+ and waking after 12 noon .. Yawnz
