Another very out-dated post which was suppose to be up long ago ..
Early last month, I took a road trip up to Malacca and Muar with my family and some of my relatives from my mom's side of the family.
Woke up bright and early at 5am and picked up Y and my auntie at Sembawang before heading across the Causeway to meet up with my family.
First stop was Ah Koong Fishball for breakfast.

My cousins. They really drove very fast. I think they will be dangers on the road when they get their license.
The result of being hao lian. Almost lost control of his kart The boys enjoying themselves.
This was the long, bumpy road that we had to take before we could reach the track.
After all the fun under the sun at the go kart, we finally made our way down to Malacca. It was a 1.5 hour drive where I took the wheel for the better part of the journey.
Reaching Malacca, we were greeted by these rows and rows of brick red shop houses. The buildings and food are influenced by the Portugese, Dutch and British.
Jonker Walk. It starts getting lively here at night..
Open concept kitchen
We were very hungry so there was no time to take pictures after the food was served. We tried their chendol and it was DELICIOUS!!
We explored Jonker walk after our very late lunch .. Jonker walk, once the richman's street is now a living proof of Malacca's rich baba-nyonya heritage. The buildings are immaculately constructed with elaborate carvings on its pillars and walls. The street is also famous for its antique shops.
My parents got this amazing lady to compose poems with our names for us.
Then we made our way down to Christ Church and along the way we stopped for some phototaking. Can see the Maritime Museum.
A group picture in front of The Stadthuys before we head up St Paul Hill. The Stadthuys (1650) was the official residence of the Dutch Governor. It now houses the Historic Museum and Ethnography Museum which has many traditional bridal costumes and relics on display. Nearby, one will also find the Christ Church built in 1753, another fine example of the Dutch architecture.
Almost there ..
Here's St Paul Church up on the hill. Once the prayer house of the Portuguese Catholics, then turned into burial ground for their noble dead by the Dutch. The tombstones have Latin and Portuguese inscriptions on them. St. Francis Xavier was buried here in 1553 before his body was moved to Goa in India.
A family photo up on the hill.
Slowly walking down..
